At Terrazign, the eurolaser machine is used primarily to produce prototypes and, when required, for production work. Materials processed include various textiles, nonwovens, Bemis hot-melt films, plastics, MDF and plywood. The combination of precise cutting and broad material versatility enables Terrazign to quickly turn a wide range of design ideas into high-quality prototypes and drive product development forward.

Challenge: High precision with maximum flexibility

A new laser cutting solution for a wide range of materials

Terrazign’s diverse development projects place high demands on material processing. To add further cutting capacity, the company therefore sought a new laser platform capable of handling a particularly broad range of materials. The key requirement was to process different materials precisely with a single solution, without having to use multiple machines or carry out time-consuming changeovers.

Versatility, large working area and modular expandability

During cutting trials, eurolaser was able to process the materials supplied by Terrazign precisely, meeting one of the company’s key requirements. Other decisive factors included the high cutting quality across different materials, the large working area, the ZÜND-based motion control system and eurolaser’s reputation.

Today, Terrazign uses a eurolaser L-1200 with a 250-watt laser source and different lenses for varying processing requirements. The multifunctional 3-in-1 system is also prepared for the future integration of a ZÜND router. The larger working area opens up new possibilities for certain development projects, while the machine can be set up quickly for new cutting tasks. This provides Terrazign with the flexibility required for its diverse prototyping activities.

The precise cutting results across our broad range of materials convinced us. Combined with the large working area, high cutting quality and eurolaser’s good reputation, it was the right solution for us.
