Carbon nonwoven material in laser test
Tenowo has been manufacturing new nonwoven material on the basis of recycled carbon fibres since 2010. Particularly in lightweight construction and the automobile industry, there has been an increase in demand for carbon fibres as a fibre reinforcement for components.
eurolaser has now taken a closer look at this material and tested it for suitability for laser cutting in their own applications laboratory.
Benefits of cutting carbon nonwoven material with CO2 lasers:
• Fused cut edges for multi-layer synthetic composites
• Fast processing speed
• No material fixation necessary – thanks to the vacuum table
• No tool wear – consistently high cutting quality
• High level of precision and repeat accuracy during laser cutting
